I recently purchased my first home through Veterans United, and I can’t say enough great things about my experience! My loan officer, Jake Hanson, made the entire process incredibly smooth and stress-free. From start to finish, he was professional, responsive, and always willing to answer my questions—no matter how small. Thanks to Jake’s efficiency and clear communication, I was able to close on my home in less than a month after applying! As a first-time homebuyer, that kind of speed and support meant the world to me. He truly went above and beyond to make sure everything went perfectly.I highly recommend Veterans United and especially Jake Hanson to any veteran or first-time homebuyer looking for a lender who truly cares and delivers outstanding results.

This was my third Mortgage through Veterans United Home Loans. Every time has been made so simple and easy for me even while transitioning from Active Duty to retirement, and while purchasing a home after changing jobs and moving to a different state. I will always use and recommend Veterans United Home Loans when purchasing a home with a VA loan.

Great. Smooth experience

I had a very problematic experience with Veterans United. In once case, the loan coordinator shared the results of the home appraisal with the sellers realtor AFTER the contract had been terminated and without consultation of us, the buyers. At closing, VU struggled with compiling the closing paperwork to support closing with our family trust as the deeded owners of the property and closing was delayed because of this and subsequently we had to redo the paperwork because they changed the requirement for how the paperwork was to be signed. At one point, the person compiling the closing paperwork stated they had never done paperwork to close with a trust.
Response from Veterans United
Hi Lionel,
I’m really sorry to hear about the challenges you faced during your loan process. What you described with the appraisal information and the closing paperwork sounds incredibly frustrating, especially after all the time and effort that goes into buying a home. That’s not the experience we want for any of our borrowers.
My team would love the opportunity to review your loan file in detail and see where things may have gone wrong. If you’re open to a quick conversation, you can reach us at 1-800-212-5200 or by email at ClientAdvocate@vu.com. Our Client Advocate team is available Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time, and we’re happy to help however we can.

I would highly recommend veterans united. The process was seamless and my representative Amanda was outstanding.

As a first-time home owner, I was a bit nervous. But Chris and his team made the home buying experience a little less frightening. Everyone on the team was very helpfull.

I can’t say enough great things,They were absolutely outstanding from start to finish. The entire team was professional, patient, and incredibly helpful throughout the process. They took the time to answer every question, explain each step clearly, and made what could have been a stressful experience completely smooth and easy. I truly felt supported and informed every step of the way. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a mortgage company that genuinely cares about their clients and goes above and beyond!

It’s been an absolutely great experience working with Veterans United, and I would recommend it to any veteran looking to purchase a home. They are detail-oriented, guide you thoroughly through the process, and stay connected even after the home-buying process for any follow-up questions.

My loan process with Veterans United was easy and streamlined. Chris Lipman and his team were very responsive. They responded to my questions and concerns right away. At one point Chris was out with his family and he still picked up the phone! That shows a commitment to this work that goes above and beyond. I felt respected and taken care of throughout the loan process. All members on his team from Britanny Lucy - Loan Concierge, Brenda Kelly - Loan Coordinator, and Mitchel Wray who helped with insurance coverage (hope didn't forget anyone) were easy to talk to, professional and very responsive. My experience was a great one. Plus, a nice final touch at the end of the closing was an unexpected gift basket for movie night in my new home. In fact, I have just done a refi using with VU. With the refi I worked with Brayden Byrd a Lead Loan Coordinator who handled my process the same way. VU knows how to provide great customer service---something that is a rare find today.
Thank you, Veterans United.

Veterans united are great peoples to do business with.

The only scam I experienced was from Safe Haven. I am really sorry I agreed to do business with them.

I love working with Randy and Austin they were both amazing at making things happen especially in the time frame that I was hoping.
